Institute of Health Sciences

The Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) was established to improve health and healthcare practice through research in the health sciences. The organisation is a network, bringing together the leading groups engaged in health sciences research from across The University of Manchester and local NHS organisations. By working closely with the NHS, the IHS seeks to enhance the health research and its dissemination, and so advance the development of evidence-based health policy and practice.

The IHS provides the infrastructure needed to develop and support multi-disciplinary research that extends across organisational boundaries within and between the University and the NHS. This has been achieved by adopting a networked organisational structure.
