Funding for non-EU (international) PhD applicants

International PhD applicants are funded from a variety of places. Many applicants secure funding from their national government, universities, industry or embassy. PhD studentships for international applicants are not always fully funded. Awards may only provide partial tuition fees or a small living allowance. Applicants should always check the value of any award, and any conditions on its renewal for subsequent years of study.

For a useful database of PhD funding opportunities, see: British Council: Education UK website
