MRIF Operational Executive
Remit
The MRIF Operational Executive (MRIF-OE) has complete oversight for all operational matters related to MR imaging research. Recommendations and advice are channelled through appropriate sub-committees up to the MRIF-OE. More specifically it meets monthly and:
- assists the Research Manager to coordinate and facilitate all scanning projects, utilising existing expertise and resource at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, in the Imaging Sciences Research Group, the WTCRF and other parts of the Faculty and Unversity;
- reviews all MRI scanning projects;
- invites feedback from all MRIF Users via a representative from the MRIF Users Group who sits on the MRIF-OE;
- is responsible to the Head of School of Cancer and Enabling Sciences and thence to the Faculty Dean and PPRC.
Membership
The Operational Executive is chaired by Professor Alan Jackson (Chair of Radiology and Director of the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre) and comprises:

- Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (WTCRF): Operational Director Helen Pidd or nominee
- Cancer and Enabling Sciences Research Group Lead: Professor Steve Williams or nominee
- Biomedical Imagining Institute : Director Professor Geoff Parker or nominee
- MR Users Group: Chair Dr Daniela Montaldi or nominee
- Superindendant Radiographer: Barry Whitnall
- ISBE Lecturer: Dr Josephine Naish
- The Christie NHS Trust Department of Radiology: Dr Prakash Manoharan
- Central Manchester Foundation Trust: Dr Stavros Stivaros
- Clinical Lecturer in Radiology: Dr James O'Connor
