Hellos and Goodbyes
October 2010
There have been a number of staff changes in the Imaging Facilities over the last few months. Mark Whelan (QA Manager), Stuart Clark (IS Manager) and Rachael Warrilow (Clerical Officer and MRIF Secretary) have all moved on to new ventures and Helen Singleton (Head of School Administration - Cancer and Enabling Sciences) has moved to Abu Dhabi!
New arrivals include Lucy Crompton who joins us as Head of School Administration from her previous post at the School of Biomedicine and there have been two internal promotions - Adam MacMahon is now Director of Radiopharmacy and Steve Nolan steps into Mark Whelan's post as QA Manager.
Having successfully completed their PhDs we have now said goodbye to:
- Dr Stephen Carter 'Combining neuropsychology, magnetic resonance imaging and [18F]-FDG positron emission tomography to investigate the brain dysfunction associated with the transition from mild cognitive impairment to mild Alzheimer’s disease'
- Dr David Coope 'Use of *11C+-Methionine PET and Diffusion -/ Perfusion – Weighted MR Imaging in Gliomas'
- Dr Samantha Mills 'The use of MR biomarkers in Brain Tumours'
- Dr Angela Rylands 'An Investigation of Cognitive Function and the Brain Serotonin (5HT) System in Implusive Aggression (IA), using Positron Emission Tomography'
- Dr Stavros Stivaros 'Language based decision support system for treatment planning in patients with sub-arachnoid haemorrhage'
- Dr Matthew Walker 'Quantitative Dynamic 3D PET Scanning of the Body and Brain using LSO Tomographs'
We wish them well in their future careers and look forward to continued collaboration.
