News: University recognises exceptional work of WMIC researcher
September 2009
We are pleased to write that Dr Herve Boutin has been given the title of Honorary Senior Research Scientist in the Faculty of Life Sciences along with three other researchers. Dr Boutin's research at the WMIC is in the area of neurosciences, neuroinflammation, stroke & brain ischemia, cytokines, pharmacology, in vivo imaging. His particular speciality is in Positron Emission Tomography, although he is also involved in other imaging techniques.
Nominations for these awards are made by academic staff and award decisions are made by the Faculty Research Team. The basic criteria are more than 5 years postdoctoral experience and an exceptional research record, and wider contributions to the Faculty/University are also considered in making these awards. In making the award Professor Nigel S. Scrutton, Associate Dean for Research, congratulated Dr Boutin on receiving this recognition and thanked him on behalf of the Faculty for his exceptional contribution to the research activity of the Faculty.
We at the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre would like to echo this sentiment, as we anticipate many further contributions from this valued member of the team. We also offer our congratulations to the three other researchers recognised in this process.
