The University of Manchester's Imaging Facilities encompass both clinical and pre-clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Positron Emission Tomography, as part of imaging modalities across the University of Manchester. Its aim is to become one of the most advanced clinical imaging research facilities internationally, providing a world-class environment in which investigators from both academia and industry can enjoy productive and fruitful collaboration.
The University of Manchester's Imaging Facilities houses an integrated research facility established to provide the means for researchers to undertake methodology, biological and clinical research. It is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities housed across four sites and some of the most advanced chemical and data analysis equipment available.
The Imaging Facilities staff include a wide-ranging team able to support and develop all aspects of clinical and preclinical research; methods and chemistry development; and regulatory and GCP support and guidance. The facilities supports researchers, academics and clinicians from across the University's faculties of Medical and Human Science, and Engineering and Life Sciences; Manchester Academic Health Science Centre; Manchester Cancer Research Centre; the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research; the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre; the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility; and Manchester's five NHS Foundation Trusts.
The University's Imaging Facilities are based across Manchester at the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre; Salford Royal Foundation trust; and the University's main campus at Stopford Building (number 79 on the campus map).
