Kay Day, Head of Faculty Administration

Kay Day graduated from the University of Warwick with an LLB in 1977. She began her career at the Victoria University of Manchester in 1981 when she was appointed as an administrative assistant in the Extra Mural Department.

Kay remained in the Department for 13 years, during which she was promoted to senior administrative assistant and studied for an MBA with the Open University, which she successfully completed in 1994.

In 1994 Kay became senior administrative assistant in the Faculty of Science and Engineering from where she moved into academic quality. As head of academic quality Kay established a unit with responsibility for the University's quality management and enhancement structures, links with partner institutions and providing support and guidance for departments undergoing subject review. During this period Kay also worked for the QAA on a number of audit visits to other universities.

In January 2004 she was appointed as Head of Administration in the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences, where she is responsible for leading the team of administrators across the Faculty, including the heads of the functional service areas at Faculty level.

She also sits on the University Senior Administrative Management Team and works with the directors of the Central Services to ensure a collegial approach to administration across the University and a consistent approach to policy development and implementation.
