Welcome to the MHS Graduate Training Team's 'Making a Scientific Presentation' course.

Objectives

The objectives of this course is to enable you to develop your presentation skills and become a successful scientific speaker.

The course covers all aspects of creating and delivering successful and effective scientific presentations. It starts at the planning stage and takes you through the steps and thought processes that contribute to a successful talk. 

Aims

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  1. Plan an effective presentation that delivers your key message and accounts for the composition of your audience.
  2. Prepare a well structured talk that your audience will understand and remember.
  3. Effectively use PowerPoint.
  4. Deliver your presentation in a professional and trouble free way.
  5. Avoid the pitfalls that can beset a presentation.
